Memorial Day - Remembering The Fallen

It's the end of the Memorial Day weekend, and many of you are sitting around, picking on what's left from the BBQ. I just wanted to make a quick note about what this day is all about. Memorial Day is here to remember the fallen troops who have served in all branches of the Armed Forces. From the first World War right up to Iraq, we salute the fallen. To the politicians who start these wars, I say phooey. Cheers.

Some Weird Shit Going On

Tonight was a weird one. I watched the Lacy Peterson movie on TV while channel hopping to America Idol. I normally do not watch these shows, but with the other half blasting it from the living room, and the kids watching, I figured I'd give it my attention. The guy with the long hair had my vote, being that i love Lynard Skynard and saw them at JFK live. This guy had heart and soul. The blonde chick was a bore to me, she sang well but no body movement, sort of like a stepford wife. Then I had to go and get some milk and coffee from my favorite Wawa, on Oak Ave. Next door, at Thomas's Cafe, was Karaoke. I just had to go in, like a big arm grabbed me by the shirt and drug me along.. As i walked into the Parking Lot I noticed a beautiful GMC 37' to the bottom of the bucket truck with chrome wheels. Must of cost 70 grand. (I hope they have a lot of jobs with it). I went in the bar, and ordered myself a beer and a shot of black bucca. Mike Blessington was the Karaoke MC. Mike is a great guy, not a snob like some other Delco Karaoke people. I told him one and done. My song was "The Letter" from the Box Tops. I have had a sore throat now for weeks, and yet I did ok. Karaoke is fun when your not judged. At Thomas's there is no clique crap. Only people who enjoy to sing. Yay that! I then left and went on home. I have several closed circuit cameras around, both out front and in the back. The one out front (It's infred) caught a weird orb floating or flying in front of it. My DVR recorded it, and i showed it to my wife. She is freaked out about it, telling me that someone must have died nearby. I 've read about these "ORBS", and I'll admit that they are mysterious, but I do not hold the same belief that she does. I'll try to copy the pictures of this to an .AVI file, and post it sometime. P.S. To Mr. Galloway: Way To Go!

Time To Go To Work

Yes, that four letter word that people both love and hate, I think that I'll do just that. No more cut and pasting for this here blog of mine. There seems to be too many wimps and crybabies out there. But, I will post your e mails to me , so be forewarned. Cheers!

Shaima Rezayee - Murdered For Being A Woman

What is wrong with these people anyway? The former presenter for a popular MTV-style music video program was shot and killed in her home in Kabul last week. Shaima Rezayee, 24, hosted the daily music program “Hop” on the private television channel Tolo TV until March. More here... It seems that killing women in Afganistan and other Muslim countries is both overlooked and accepted. Comments?

Chance of Rain - ___%

This is what the National Weather Service reports when I requested data this morning. TODAY CLOUDY WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS. HIGHS AROUND 60. NORTHEAST WINDS 5 TO 10 MPH. CHANCE OF RAIN 40 PERCENT. I recommend them as opposed to Accu-Weather or Weather.com. NOAA has no pop-up ads, or annoying flash crap. Most of all they just post data relavent to your area weather. Remember Captain Noah? I always wondered when I would be invited on his "Magical Ark." Yes, good old Capt.Noah and Mrs.Noah I believe were the founders of NOAA. Think about it. "NOAA" derived from "NOAH". I knew Philly's own Captain was an intellegent one, but until today never could connect the two! When he would ask us to "Send Your Pictures to dear old Captain Noah, Send today... Send right away.." It was his way of asking us to be weather spotters, I'm sure of it! So, move over Rick, It will take more than an out of state Senator to take away our NOAA! Have a nice day.

Very Interesting

Now just why would the Treasury Department send me these e mails? I've had three of them today in my mailbox all pointing to German websites. Am I on some mailing list or something? If you do a Sammy Spade (whois) on the ip address it shows up as the Executive Office of Asset Forfeiture, or EOAF. Is this a cruel joke? A Virus? Worm? Or something else? Anyone care to explain? My anti virus defs are up to date. Beware Of Smooth Talkers

I just was informed by my wife that we owe Verizon $237.06 for our business line. I asked her why it was so high, being that it averages $40.00 a month. I found the answer under Non Basic Service Charges, on page 5. It seems that Integretel, a third party billing company, added a charge for $38.10 Federal Tax included for MySiteOnlineIs.COM. I called Integretel, and the woman put me on hold. Then a recording came on. I heard my wife giving out information and basically authorizing the billing. I asked her why would you do this? Our business already has a web page And although I haven't really updated it, it's FREE. She went on to tell me that the man said it was a free trial and he would send her a package in the mail about their product. In my opinion she was duped into giving out information and never authorized anything. Here is the URL to what they provided for 34.95 a month. You have got to be kidding me! What kind of crappy cookie cutter no information site is that? For thirty-four bucks a month? Anyway, I gave my wife their telephone number and asked my wife to call and cancel this, which she did. I then called MySiteOnlineIs myself and kind of let loose on the lady who answered. I was told that we were billed since January, that my wife did authorize it, and that she had just called to cancel. I told the woman that I thought her company had rotten Salespersons, that I thought my wife was conned, and that I wanted a copy of the WHOLE conversation between my wife and the Salesperson for my attorney to hear. She told me that they did not have the whole conversation, only the part about my wife giving authorization. So, the Salesperson and the sales pitch weren't recorded? What a perfect way of making money! Call up a business, throw them a salespitch, record someone (Anyone) who will give authorization whether they have it or not, then tack it on the businesses phone bill. Before the end of our conversation the woman offered me an apology and a promise of two months credit sent to Verizon. On a side note I also did a google search on MySiteOnlineIs and came across this interesting read: What I learned from all of this is that one must pay attention to ANY solitation, and better yet, just hang up on them. I know my wife will think the same thing next time.

Pennsylvania Bases To Close

They just announced that the Pentagon is targeting to close Willow Grove NAS, as well as 10 or 11 other military bases in Pennsylvania. I have a good friend who has worked at Willow Grove for years. He tells me that it will be hard for him and others to gain employment elsewhere. To add insult to injury, the James W. Reese Army Reserve Center, located in Chester is also on the chopping block. Here is a list of all Pennsylvania bases slated to be closed or re-aligned. Bristol Engineering Field Activity - Northeast Kelly Support Center Naval Air Station Willow Grove Navy Crane Center, Lester Navy-Marine Corps Reserve Center, Reading North Penn U.S. Army Reserve Center, Norristown Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station Serrenti U.S. Army Reserve Center, Scranton U.S. Army Reserve Center, Bloomsburg U.S. Army Reserve Center, Lewisburg U.S. Army Reserve Center, Williamsport W. Reese U.S. Army Reserve Center/OMS, Chester Letterkenny Army Depot Naval Support Activity - Philadelphia Navy-Marine Corps Reserve Center - Lehigh Navy-Marine Corps Reserve Center, Pittsburgh Tobyhanna Army Depot Defense Distribution Depot - Susquehanna Human Resources Support Center - Northeast Marine Corps Reserve Center, Johnstown Naval Support Activity, Mechanicsburg Navy Philadelphia Business Center So what about all the personnel, both military and civilian that will lose their jobs? What about the area business that depend on the personnel to spend money at there establishments? Here's what Curt Weldon says: "I support the concept of base closings 100 percent," said U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon, R-7, of Thornbury. "Before the final decision is made next year, every facility will have the opportunity to make the case for why it should not be modified or closed." That's it Curt, just agree with your handlers in Washington, New York, and Tel Aviv. Forget about what you really should be doing, like protecting your local area constituents. It's funny that you all can vote 80 + Billion twice to Iraq, then 50 Billion more, all in the name of Freedom. Who's freedom Curt? The Iraqis? They are on the brink of civil war over there in case you haven't been noticing. You won't see it on the TV either, mainstream media is controlled by the same people who control the White House. Also, if you study the locations of all the bases you"ll see that most of them are in the so called "Blue States". You know, the ones that voted for Kerry. I guess this is payback. The closings will save the government 48 billion over twenty years. Yes, you read it right, 48 billion over twenty years. Wow! How far would that go in Iraq? 3 months? Speaking of Iraq, I just do not get it. Bomb the hell out of them, capture Saddam Who will be killed before he ever gets the chance to tell what he knows about his former buddies, like Rumsfeld, etc,and if it is in fact the real Saddam to begin with, then secure those all important oil fields, pump the oil to Israel, at the expense of 2000 plus dead Americans and tens of thousands more exposed to DU. Oh well Curt, don't worry about anything, only your job in a few years. You see, both Republicans and Democrats that I know both are fed up with what has and still is going on in Washington. We are not stupid people, just silently waiting for someone with balls to stand up to the treasonous behavior that exhibits itself from Capitol Hill. I always thought that selling out America was a case of treason. Am I wrong about this? Or did the Constitution really get trashed? Any way, for what it's worth, here's a bit of information on Willow Grove. NAS JRB Willow Grove History

Coming to grips

Yes I deleted my ranting post that I put up last night. I did it after realizing that I am not going to give into people who are insensitive and just plain nasty. Ranting about what others post on your blog onlt takes away from what you wanted to get across in the first place. I'm off.

Today is I D-Day

Papers, Please! Real ID = National ID Card TODAY the US Senate is scheduled to vote on the implementation of a national ID card system. The Real ID Act is nothing less than a Real National ID Act. The only thing left to the individual states is to decide which pretty picture they will choose to put on the card: everything else will be controlled by Washington DC bureaucrats. The Real ID Act has never been debated on the US Senate floor. They've never talked about it in any committee. Heck, most of them haven't even read it! Yet they're planning to vote on it on Tuesday, no questions asked. In order to make a single irresponsible Congressman with totalitarian leanings happy, the Senate leadership let him write the bill and then slipped it into a another bill, one that would keep our fighting men and women taken care of in Iraq and Afghanistan. Supporting our troops means making sure they come home to a free nation, not a surveillance state. Take Action You've sent over 20,000 Faxes to your Senators. Over the past 36 hours, over 20,000 faxes have been sent by you asking your Senators to stop the Real ID Act. This is nothing short of amazing, but we need to keep telling our Senators that this national ID scheme is un-American, dangerous and wrong. Today is the day of the vote. Call your Senators. The bill you're calling about is H.R. 418 RFS. Tell them they need to remove the Real ID Act from this bill. When speaking to your Senators, remember to: be polite, and respectful; remind them they should read and discuss a bill before voting on it; tell them that this is America, not Communist China; suggest that putting cops and judges in danger is not a good idea; inform them that we must not let the terrorists change American life; tell them that forcing National ID cards on us would be a victory for Osama bin Laden. State: Pennsylvania Senators: Arlen Specter (R) Washington DC Office Phone: 202-224-4254 District Office Phone: 412-644-3400 Rick Santorum (R) Washington DC Office Phone: 202-224-6324 District Office Phone: 412-562-0533 Identity Guard The above is what George Orwell wrote what was to become in 1984. Twenty One years off there George. And to Arlen and Rick ? I really hope you do not vote for this. I really really do. There is no need for Pennsylvania, the Birthplace of our Constitution, to be in on this beginning of a Police State. Nazi Germany had the same thing. Are we to stoop to that level all in the bullshit name of "National Security"?

The Huffington Post- Arianna's Weapon of Mass Destruction?

I had blogrolled her new site a few weeks ago, looking forward to it's debut. Well, it's day two of the Arianna "Blogstage" situation, and already I am feeling generally like crap. What am I talking about? At The Huffington Post, you have a pseudo-spattage of both newbie and veteran celebrities, all jockeying for the pole position. So far I've read some excellent posts, but all with one thing missing.(Remember the WMD's?) You guessed it. No way to comment. At her main site, the one I visit all the time and even get a news letter from, you have the ability to reply to her posts with comments. I enjoy as do many others reading her comment section as much as the original posts. Here's a link to her last post w/ comments and you"ll see what I'm talking about. I just hope that Queen Arianna does the right thing and allows readers to comment on her long list of guest blogger's threads. I mean, Joe Scarborough? Bill Maher? Gary Hart? And you cannot comment? Please! Even the God of News himself, Walter Cronkite for Christ's sake, has allied himself with her. Arianna, please consider allowing us mere "Useless Eaters" the privilege of commenting. P.S. So when is King George going to post?

Mothers Day, Hi-Jinks & Hallmark

Happy Mothers Day to all you Moms out there. I couldn't make it to my Moms today, but at least called her. I have heard that Mothers Day is the most busiest day of the year for the quasi - Baby Bells. Hallmark also reaps in a good bit of moolah. I went down to the Hallmark store in Aldan today and bought my Mom one of the few remaining cards. It was one of those funny ones. I hope she likes it when I give it to her tomorrow. I also bought a figurine of two kittens in a bag. Now I used to love cats as a kid. I especially loved my grey striped tabby, Jinks. This cat was more like a dog, not afraid of water and always snuggled up to me at night. In August of 1973, Me and my Sister and Mom went to visit her relations in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. We were there for 3 weeks and toured Europe. When we got back, the first thing that I expected was to be greeted by Jinks. Pixie and Snowball were sitting around, eating as usual, but no Jinks. I asked my Dad: Where was Jinks? He said he had not seen him in since the day before, and when he did Jinks was meowing all the time, panting like it had rabies. I was in a panic, my heart racing. I went out back and called to him to no avail. I cried myself to sleep, wondering just where my friend was. The answer came the next morning. A neighborhood friend George had helped me look for jinks along with my sister and my friends Pete & Spiro. George had looked under a shrub in our neighbors yard and spied Jinks. He was dead. I did not know what to do. I grasped my friend Jinks and cradled him in my arms sobbing. After about 30 minutes of crying and screaming and cursing , George took my cat away from me and buried him in my back yard. I made a cross with his name and birth/died date type of thing, then went in my house. For weeks I would look out my bedroom window at night at the grave, remembering all the wonderful times that I had with my cat. I also found out years later that Mr. Kettlewood, a jerk off neighbor four doors up from us, had poisoned my cat because it was digging in his flower bed. (I took my revenge by shooting out his back windows one night). As I got older, Snowball and Pixie (Jink's sister,) died. Other cats and my beloved black lab "Lady" would also come & go. But Jinks to me was special. A one of a kind cat who acted more human than feline. Back to all you Moms out there. What you go through is nothing short of amazing. To put up with your children and husbands and boy friends all wanting your attention 24/7 is indeed worthy of a day set aside for you. Just how did you spend your day? Did you get breakfast in bed? A full body massage? Taken out to dinner? Dishes done by someone other than you? Given a membership to Curves or Hollywood Tans? All of the above are pretty nice things to do for a Mother, weather she is your own or the mother of your children. Me? I told my wife that you she is special and loved and appreciated, and a hell of a woman to put up with four boys, (Me being one of them!) Plus, I gave her a hundred bucks. Happy Mothers Day :-)

Hold The Door Please!

I was thinking about my Dad tonight. I miss him. I guess I am looking in the mirror more often and am realizing that I am getting older. During the course of the work day I meet women at Wawa and other places. I look at them and measure myself as a compatible person and potential friend. I know what your thinking, this guy is married! He has no business looking at another woman! Sure thing. When the day comes around that I stop admiring a woman's beauty or being a "Gentleman" will be the day that you can put a round behind my right ear!(And I'll lend you my Baretta too!) In today's world, Nazi-Feminist have corrupted the essential "roles" of Men and Women. It's "not ok", to look at a woman, gaze at her lovely legs, hold a door open for her, or just say: Hi, my names Jake Jericho". Men like me are considered pigs and perverts. I recently held the door open for a woman at Wawa and she said: I can get the f'n door myself! Well EXCUSE ME BITCH! Don't get me wrong now. I do not look at a woman every time and picture me in bed with her or visually take her clothes off. I just enjoy being around them. Their scent just overpowers me at times. The short skirts, breasts hanging out, the coy smile they give you plus the spring weather reminds me of just how goddamn great it is to be a man! Which brings me back to my Dad. He was a ladies man. He knew how to treat them good, to make them feel special. In the end though it was my Mother who was there for him. Not his bitch wife Beverly, a woman who just married him to flaunt herself within his circle of friends and when he died, denied me and my sister Kathy his personal effects until she met yet another man to leech onto. No, I am still bitter. You see, Women can be evil too. So to all you women who happen upon this blog, Know that most men are on the whole only acting on what God and their Mothers hopefully gave them. Don't be so snobbish! And when he holds the door open for you at Wawa? Say with a smile: T H A N K S! Anyway, I updated my tribute page to my Pop if your interested.
