I just left the Westbrook Market after scrounging up money to buy milk, eggs, and a can of Chicken Noodle Soup. The kid in front of me, a rather tall one, in his late twenties, had an Apple Strudel and two Milky Way Bars on the counter. The girl at the register asked: "Is that all"? He nodded and then whipped out his Access Card, you know, the one that equates to Food Stamps? Both myself and the guy behind me rolled our eyes, not believing what we just saw. Ok, some may say your jealous Ward. Yep, maybe I am. You see, I work for a living, to rent a home, to put food on our table, and maybe, just maybe, buy a few Christmas presents for our Children & Grandchildren. So to see this BUM in my book, (He was as healthy as an ox and drove away in a nice Dodge Charger), buy junk food is beyond belief. He most likely has free Healthcare, whereas I just lost mine due to non payment of my Premiums. I am very ill here with a nasty flu compounded by COPD.

Curious Here As A Resident in Upper Darby

I recently seen on our Mayor's FaceBook page a post about the "National Democratic Institute" and how he had met with some of their reps. I checked out thier website and well, honestly, "Democratic"? Is this another Hillary and DNC website? Arabs, Hindus,aka, foreigners who are here trying to "Take over the area"? I know, I'm paranoid. Or Racist. No, I'm a White guy with Irish Immigrant parents who has watched America and Upper Darby and parts of Delaware County go to shit. All while the dumb ass Dem supporters vote every four years for broken promises. Time for an armed revolt if Donald Trump gets ripped off on Tuesday. Cheers.

Narcan Now In Stores In Delaware County

Today I was browsing online and came across an article that the Acme is now carrying Narcan.
I have mixed feelings about this, as one the one hand it is definitely a life safer to a Heroin user who overdoses, but on the other hand, I feel that some users may make a pact with each other and if they see one overdosing, they will administer the drug.

Life-Saving Nasal Spray Used For Drug Overdoses Now Available In All PA Acme Stores:
The nasal spray Narcan, which reverses the effects of an opioid overdose, will now be available in all Acme pharmacies in Pennsylvania.

Man found Dead In Morton

What a shame, too many people turning up dead lately.

Blizzard of 2016

Just wanted to thank my Neighbor, Nick for helping me clear off the back driveway & our common front walkway. It was sad to hear that an 88 year old Man died from a heart attack after shoveling his own driveway yesterday. Was he offered help? Probably not. Younger people move in to a neighborhood, and automatically assume that their elderly neighbor is a mean person, unfeeling, uncaring. when in reality, the elderly have much to tell, and are lonely. So get out there and say hello to them.

I also want to thank Mayor Tom Micozzie, The Upper Darby Police Department, The Upper Darby Fire Department, Delco EMT Corps, as well as Ed Truitt and the County of Delaware for their no nonsense handling of this storm.
