Your tax money wasted by Mario Civera

Mario Civera and his spending of your money Here is the latest report from the state on how much of your money Mario Civera spends on "Public Service Announcements". What a waste. Think of the good that money could have been used for. These announcements are little more than state paid commercials. I hereby ask that Mario stop this waste of taxpayer money, and demand that he explain to all of us why he abuses this program. When the vote came up on the issue in Harrisburg Mario voted no, I wonder why. 1. We need election and campaign reform for the entire country, but it starts at the local level. Our politicians are spending too mcuh of their time campaigning and not enough on governing. Who is taking the place of Obama and Clinton while they're on the campaign trail? What is being accomplished while Civera is campaigning?

  2. Casey, $13 K on a web site? Hell this whole site cost me $150.00 a year. Also, The reason Mario has a dot com is that if he used his official web site, it could not contain any election material I am told.

Finally, Google "Mario Civera" and look at the results. "Civera, Mario - District 164 Republican State Representative Mario Civera, serving Upeer Darby Pennsylvania.

  3. Fran, you chided me about spelling along time ago. I've been trying to do better.
The Mario web site is done from a state employee who has never even heard of Upper Darby.

  4. LOL, I was talking about "Google" not using spell check. They are the ones who put "Upeer" in Upper Darby. :)

  5. I've noticed that every time I send an email to Mr. Civera (from conservationist websites or the like), I receive snail mail in response on letterhead with a very fancy inlaid gold seal. A minor expense compared to all those PSAs, to be sure, but foil inlay on heavyweight cream paper doesn't come cheap, especially when it's being sent out constantly. Why is this overspending clown still in office?

  6. Casey, do you feel the same outrage when Governor Rendell does the same thing? Did you know that when a municipality receives a state grant, they must erect a sign with the governor's name on it and that this requirement is memorialized in the grant contract? Is spending money on lawyers to do this just as wasteful, or is it OK because you like Rendell? How about the endless stream of meetings and letters coming out of Joe Sestak's office? Are these a waste of taxpayer dollars? Or is it OK and informative because you may agree with his positions? Do you feel the same level of outrage towards Bryan Lentz, Thaddeus Kirkland, Ronald Waters, Ron Donatucci, Anthony Williams and Connie Williams, who all do the same thing? Or is this simply a partisan attack where you are trying to extend your 15 minutes of fame from the 2006 election? If we're really talking about outrageous wastes of taxpayer money, how about discussing the Bill DeWeese bonuses paid to Democrat staffers for camapign work in 2006 USING STATE DOLLARS! If this was anything other than a partisan attack on your part, and if you were truly concerned about taxpayer dollars, you would publicly condemn DeWeese's actions, demand that all of the bonuses be reimbursed, and call for Mr. DeWeese to resign. Or does your outrage for wasteful spending not extend to your patrons and masters?
