Soraia

Happy New Year! I've been controlling my self from posting my opinions on world issues , namely politics, and felt the NEED to tell you all about a local band that although I've never seen preform in person (yet), they really get me rocking. Their name is Soraia, the band consists of from their web site - Dave Justo (lead guitar), Travis Smith (bass guitar), Sue Mansour (vocals, tambo), Joe Armstrong (drums), and Joe Francia (rhythm guitar)... They have a new CD out called Shed The Skin. A bit different from Recipe For Disaster, but the mix of Joplin like, sixties - seventies gritty music combined with Susan's hard core yet subtle? vixen voice makes for a decent sound. They rock! - No offense Howard. Anyway, I plan to see them at Tom n Jerry's in Milmont Park (I call it Ridley) on the 17th of January. Cheers and stay safe.

Election was closer than you think

Below is a copy of a letter I sent to local papers. The significance is that I lost by two votes. So is this a typical tactic that we should expect from the R's? Note that these facts can be confirmed by anyone. All Public info.

To the residents of Radnor’s Fifth Ward: I would like to present you with some facts concerning the recent election and a Husband Wife who voted in the 5th Ward.

In the spring, before the Primary, a letter concerning the Act 1 referendum that I had sent to these folks as part of a “Ward-wide” mailing was returned to me as “Undeliverable”. I dutifully noted this fact in my election database. As I was canvassing over the summer and fall I visited the former address of Husband and Wife and confirmed they no longer live at that address, it is now a rental property. This explained why my letter had been returned. I was told by neighbors that they had moved at least two years prior. When I got a copy of the updated voter registration list in the fall, I noted that Husband and Wife were still registered at the old address. This did not surprise me because these lists are notorious for being out dated. However, I was surprised to see that they had voted in the 5th Ward in the Primary. This warranted further investigation.. First I “Googled” their names and found an address in the Fourth Ward. The telephone directories also give the same Fourth Ward address. Next I looked at the County real estate information on line. The Fifth Ward property is indeed owned by Husband and Wife, however the taxpayer information section lists the Fourth Ward address. Lastly, I confirmed they also own and live at the Fourth Ward address cited for Taxpayer information. Did I mention, one of these folks was a Committee person, not mine?

Armed with this information I instructed my Poll Watcher to challenge Husband and Wife if they came to vote in the Fifth Ward in November. Unfortunately, Husband got past my Watcher during a brief break but Wife did not, and was challenged. The Judge of Elections contacted Media and was told that the individual would be permitted to vote if she signed an affidavit stating that she lived at the Fifth Ward address listed on the voter register. After signing the affidavit, she preceded vote.

So what do you think? The lawyers tell me, “The residency argument is very tricky” In my non-lawyer mind, where you sleep and where your wife and family sleep is where you live, not to mention where the County and US Postal Service think you reside. Maybe this election was even closer than you thought.

Thieves steal yet more $$$ - (Just in time for CHRISTMAS)

Printing money out of thin air while all the U.S. Gold has been stolen decades ago. When will this end? Hopefully, when RON PAUL, a Republican Congressman from Texas is elected in 2008. You'll not see any MSM outlet giving him attention though, because they are owned by foreigners with no care for America other than to rape her and bleed her dry.. Would you give your checkbook to a stranger? House passes $516 billion spending bill By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON - The House Monday approved a $516 billion measure funding 14 Cabinet agencies and funding for troops in Afghanistan, setting the stage for a year-end budget deal with the White House. President Bush has signaled he'll ultimately sign the measure — assuming up to $40 billion more is provided by the Senate for the Iraq war — despite opposition from GOP conservatives. In an unusual two-step, lawmakers first voted 253-154 to approve the omnibus spending bill; they then voted 206-201 to add $31 billion for troops in Afghanistan to the measure. The combined $516 billion spending package is set for Senate debate on Tuesday. The year-end measure mostly sticks within Bush's budget, though it shifts billions of dollars into politically sensitive programs he sought to cut. Bush signaled he would sign the measure, awarding a 4 percent increase, on average, to domestic programs. Bush's approval depends on Senate Republicans succeeding, later this week, in adding up to $40 billion for U.S. troops in Iraq. "We're making some pretty good progress toward coming up with a fiscally sound budget, one that meets priorities, helps on some emergencies and enables us to say that we've been fiscally sound with the people's money," Bush said Monday. The 1,482-page bill has been shorn of Democratic policy riders that drew White House veto threats, such as an attempt to ease or end restrictions on aid to overseas family planning groups that provide abortions. Republicans generally opposed the omnibus bill measure since it fails to include funding for military operations in Iraq and provides $13 billion above Bush's "top line" request for the one-third of the budget passed each year by Congress. The Senate is expected to approve the bill after substituting $70 billion in funding for Iraq and Afghanistan. The complicated plan calls for the House to have a vote limited to the war funding. That vote, if successful, would clear the combined bill for Bush's approval and allow lawmakers to go home for Christmas. The result would be a twin defeat for Democrats, who had vowed not to allow additional Iraq war funding without conditions and had spent months on legislation to add $27 billion to domestic programs, an almost 7 percent increase. Bush sought a much smaller increase, less than 1 percent, for domestic programs other than military base construction; the Democratic bill provides domestic increases averaging about 4 percent, once "emergency" funding above Bush's budget is included. Democrats succeeded in reversing cuts sought by Bush to heating subsidies, local law enforcement, Amtrak and housing as well as Bush's plan to eliminate the $654 million budget for grants to community action agencies that help the poor. To find the money, lawmakers shifted $6 billion from Bush's plans for defense, foreign aid and military base construction accounts. Veterans would get $3.7 billion more than Bush requested, supplied on an "emergency" basis above Bush's budget cap. Democrats were able to put their imprint on the bill, restoring Bush-sought cuts to state and local law enforcement grants, aid to community action groups and airport modernization grants. Democrats also added funding for food programs, subsidies to community development banks and Homeland Security Department grants to first responders. Democrats also touted increases for Social Security administrative costs aimed at reducing backlogs for disability claims. They added $544 million above Bush's budget to battle AIDS overseas, and awarded a 16 percent boost for the National Endowment of the Arts, a frequent target of GOP conservatives. The chronically underfunded Consumer Product Safety Commission would get a 28 percent hike in its budget. Conservative Republicans opposed the measure, and House GOP leaders issued a carefully worded statement announcing they would oppose the bill on Monday — but leaving open the option to support it when it comes back for a final vote, as early as Wednesday. The measure caps months of battling with Bush over the one-sixth of the budget passed each year by Congress for domestic programs such as education, food aid and low-income housing. Bush steadfastly refused to negotiate with Congress over a cap of $933 billion for all such discretionary appropriations, which include the $459 billion defense budget bill enacted last month. Democrats sought $23 billion above Bush's cap. Taxpayers for Common Sense, a Washington-based watchdog group that opposed so-called pork barrel projects, counted 8,983 such "earmarks" worth $7.4 billion. These hometown pet projects include economic development grants, aid to local transit and police departments, and clean water projects, among many others. Merry Christmas all you sheep.. Sleep tight. P.s. All in favor of ending this madness? Good luck. They have cornered the market and it would take something "Big" to tame them.

The Truth About Mumia Abu-Jamal Finally Told

Maureen Faulkner lays flowers at a plaque at the site of her husband's death.
Let's just say that it's about time that the real truth came out by a woman who has endured multiple death threats from SCUMBAGS who made a rotten murderer into some sort of celebrity. There is way to much evidence contrary to what one blog is posting, that the man received a fair trial. The only thing that didn't happen is that he was put six feet under. On this anniversary of Danny's murder, remember just who were the victims.
P.s. All you Mumia supporters should be deported to France.

Jocelyn & Eddie - End Game

Jocelyn Sarah Kirsch In today's Daily News on page three is a story about two young people who supposedly ripped off their friends and neighbors in excess of a hundred grand by stealing their identities. Edward Anderton and Jocelyn Kirsch both are charged with identity theft, forgery, unlawful use of a computer and several other charges. Jocelyn and Eddie The duo, dubbed Philly's own "Bonnie & Clyde" are far from the real ones who killed several people back in the thirties. This story took wings because of two things: One, the public's obsession with these types of stories, and two, it seems that pretty women can catch your eye than some Ugly Betty type. My prediction? These two pay restitution and maybe do 6 months max, unless the Feds get involved. After all, attractive, young intelligent people who come from well to do families always seem to get some sort of magical treatment as opposed to the less fortunate. On a side note: Never trust anyone to use your computer unless you absolutely have to. There are many ways of installing a key logger without detection by Norton, McAfee, AVG, or any other so called "Anti Virus" software. Also, be sure to delete your Exif information from any pictures you post on the net. older programs like Adobe Photoshop 5.5 (that I own), will not parse the data like the newer version. Cheers. Arthur Bomar - Insane Or Just Another Scumbag?

Bomar Lookalike?
Tonight on 60 Minutes, they're running a story on another POS named Gregory Thompson, who not only looks like Bomar, but also brutally killed a woman in Tennessee 22 years ago. For those who don't remember, Arthur Bomar abducted Aimee Willard from a Blue Route ramp, raped and brutally murdered her, then dumped her body in Philly. Bomar also claims he's "Insane". Sure thing Arthur. Remember when you shot the finger at her family in court? Your far from insane. Your just a dirt bag lowlife scumbag who should have been put down in 1996. Amazing how convicted killers play the insane card.

Mike Chitwood Versus the Second Amendment

In yesterdays Daily Times, I read about a lawsuit filed from C.Scott Shields in behalf of a Mary Welsch of the Drexel Hill section of Upper Darby. Mike, give the woman back her guns. She owns them, not you, not anyone else. There is a thing called the Second Amendment, that also allows YOU to carry a firearm. Cheers.

Community Service - Seat Belts Optional

This is going to have some serious legal ramifications. I can only imagine what David Landau will have to say about this.. Read on:
Community service turns into wild ride By Timothy Logue, tlogue@delcotimes.com CHESTER — Seven non-violent offenders sentenced to community service were taken on a hell ride Friday by a drunk county employee responsible for transporting them to and from their trash-picking duties, officials said. “It was terrifying,” said one man who held on for dear life as Adonis Robinson swerved in and out of oncoming traffic and hopped an occasional curb while driving through Upper Darby, Lansdowne, Clifton Heights and Aldan. “The guy was absolutely toasted.” By the time Robinson crashed his county van into a Mercedes in the 200 block of Edgmont Avenue in Chester, six of his passengers had bailed out at various locations. “I’ve had a lot of people show up for community service drunk, but this is the first time for one of my drivers,” said Community Service Director Walter Omlor, who immediately called Upper Darby police when he got word one of his drivers appeared to be driving under the influence. “I know he wasn’t on anything when left in the morning.” Robinson, 54, of the first block of Worrell Street in Chester, was charged with DUI, recklessly endangering another person, driving at unsafe speeds, careless and reckless driving, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence and driving with open container. He was taken to the cell block at the Chester Police Station and later arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Spencer B. Seaton Jr., according to Omlor, who said Robinson had worked for the county for more than seven years. “I’m a constable and just happened to have warrants on another guy Chester had in custody,” he said. “I saw (Robinson) there and said, ‘You’re done.’ “Everyone in the county knows if you drink on my crew, it’s over.” Robinson took his community service crew, made up of at least three DUI offenders, from Media to Upper Darby for trash duty along West Chester Pike at about 7:45 a.m. Friday. When the group wrapped up its first shift near Upper Darby police headquarters and got back into the van, it became clear something was wrong with their driver. “He picked us up around lunchtime and drove a few blocks toward 69th Street and then he stopped for no reason in the middle of a busy intersection for about 10 or 15 seconds,” said one member of the crew who requested anonymity. “Then he made a right and hit the curb.” Robinson made his way up 69th Street Boulevard past the Tower Theater with his crew of four men and three women, stopping briefly at a Burger King near Church Lane and Marshall Road. “We got out for a few minutes to get some food and nobody wanted to get back in the van,” the crew member said. “One girl looked absolutely terrified and another guy looked at me after we got back in and said ‘Do you smell that?’ “I said, ‘Yeah I smell it.’ By that time, everyone knew the guy was totaled, but I was afraid of the consequences if I said something or turned him in… I didn’t want to lose my (community service) hours.” After booting his crew out of the van for another 15-20 minutes while parked outside the Pearle Vision Center on Church Lane, Robinson collected his crew and headed for Baltimore Avenue. “He was swerving really bad and getting progressively worse,” the crew member said, adding most of the seatbelts were ripped out of the van. “We almost got into an accident at Baltimore Pike. He slammed on the brakes and nearly hit the car in front of him.” Robinson made a right on Baltimore Pike and crossed over Lansdowne Avenue on his way toward Clifton Heights. He pulled over at the Kmart when a woman requested he stop so she could use the bathroom. “That’s when one of the girls called Community Service and told them what was going on.” Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael J. Chitwood said his department got a call about a community service van with a drunk driver in the vicinity of Parkview Avenue and State Road at 1:45 p.m. but the van was never located. “That was my call,” Omlor said. “I told them, ‘If you find him, test him. If he’s drunk, lock him up and I’ll come get my van.’” With his seven passengers onboard again, Robinson exited the Kmart lot and headed back toward Upper Darby, again making use of the entire roadway. “At that point,” the crew member recalled, “one girl started saying, ‘Please stop, please stop. I want to get out.’” The three women and one man jumped out of the van at Lansdowne and Baltimore with Robinson hardly noticing. Two more passengers got out on Providence Road in the Secane section of Upper Darby after Robinson took them on a wild ride through Aldan. By the time he crashed in Chester, Robinson was down to one passenger. “I have no idea what brought this on,” Omlor said. “It was purely out of the wild and I was as stunned as anyone.” The mother of one woman on the crew — a Villanova student arrested for registering a blood-alcohol level of .03 while traveling as a passenger in her friend’s car in the week leading up to her 21st birthday — was furious when she learned of her daughter’s ordeal. “She was really nervous about (community service) and I tried to reassure her, saying ‘You’re in good hands. You’ll be fine.’ Then I find out she could have been killed.” The crew member said riding with Robinson was the most persuasive anti-DUI message he had ever seen. “The first call I made when I got out was to community service and the second call was to my lawyer,” he said. “It’s pretty ironic. I was there for DUI and I know at least two others who were, too. That guy taught everyone in that van a lesson.” Chester police did not have any information on injuries to Robinson, his passenger or the driver of the Mercedes.
When are the elections again?

Vote Katie Leonard for Upper Darby School Board

Yes I went through this before. But this time I am really sure of this young woman in her dedication to Upper Darby residents and students, (Morso that I can say about the others who I've taken the time to research,) I am Sure in the fact that she is sincere and really wants to serve both the taxpayers, parents, and students of Upper Darby School District. I first got wind of Katie on My Space, a (Social networking web site for you newbies) and was impressed after reading her profile and visiting her web site - voteforkatie.org. So, as a unabashed favor to Katie, I endorse her for Upper Darby School Board, and hope you will too. Come election day, it will take the average voter in Delaware County once at the polls 15 minutes of their precious life to speak out on what they really really want to change or stay the same in their neighborhood! To be quite honest with you I don't know who is running for the job, other than Katie. That is why I am voting for her. From Her My Space: I am running to serve our school board and would appreciate your support.I have lived nearly my entire life in Drexel Hill and had the privilege of attending Garrettford, Drexel Hill, and Upper Darby before graduating in 2001. Since then, I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and am now attending Temple Law School and West Chester University, where I am working towards teaching certification in English and social studies. While I take immense pride in the education and opportunities Upper Darby schools presented me with, many people have become increasingly critical of the system. It is for that reason I am seeking your vote this primary season. I get frustrated hearing people make negative generalizations about the very schools I attended not too long ago. Of course our schools have some problems. But every district has its own set of problems. The answer is Read more here... Bottom line is forget that you maybe do not agree with me or like me for that matter.. Do use what our forefathers gave you and give a damn on how both your money is spent and your children are taught in Upper Darby Township! Election Day is November 6, 2007 - Polls open at 8:00 AM! Find time to grow some and feel good afterwards! VOTE! P.S. Penn Delco? Too bad Katie isn't vieing for a spot on your board.. She would clean house with all your corruption!

The SCHIP Dilemma - Are Your Children Worth it?

I've been closely following this bill to increase funding for low to middle income families who cannot afford health care for their kids. President Bush vetoed the bill, urging congress to give him yet more money for his "nation building" regime in the Middle East. Well how did our reps in Pennsylvania vote? Democrats - Altmire, Y; Brady, Y; Carney, Y; Doyle, Y; Fattah, Y; Holden, Y; Kanjorski, Y; Murphy, Patrick, Y; Murtha, Y; Schwartz, Y; Sestak, Y. Republicans -Dent, Y; English, Y; Gerlach, Y; Murphy, Tim, Y; Peterson, N; Pitts, N; Platts, Y; Shuster, N. To those "Republicans", Peterson, Pitts and Shuster, you should be ashamed. As Jane Hamsher points out here, people need to be motivated to do something about their so called elected officials when it comes to such a needed service. Please don't tell me it's socialized health care either. America is dead last in health care for the people, while doctors, insurance companies and lawyers get fat with money. How much do they (lobbyist) contribute to these elected officials who all tout that they are for the people again? I have a question for all who are running for office here in Pennsylvania this November: How would you have voted for the SCHIP bill? P.s. Michele Malkin? You ought to be ashamed of yourself!

Clifton Heights Democratic Party

dosen't look like no donkey to me.. I received a flyer from them today in my door. Not knowing anything about them, other than Katie Leonard, my "My Space" buddy, I found that their web site is rather navigable, as in all links seem to work, etc. My only problem is that on the flyer, it says:
Vote Straight Democrat.
I have never voted a straight party ticket in all of the years I have voted. I research the candidate, weigh their contributions to the community, then see what they have to offer me, the voter. Bob Penjuke is my current committeeman here in Clifton Heights. He took over the post after his wife passed away. As my committeeman, (and neighbor down the street) has addressed every issue that I have brought to him, as did his wife Pat. So to see various Democrats like Kevin Parsons state: " After watching the town go down hill he decided to run for council, and that it is time for a change." statement kind of took me by surprise.
What went downhill? Sure the whole county is being affected by druggies and kids with guns (I blame parents and MTV for it, if not the lax social services) but Clifton Heights as a whole is a decent town, with the Clifton Rams and the PAL and the best Fourth of July fireworks on the east coast as all positives! Here's how someone like myself can be swayed to vote for them. Mary McStravog, running for the fourth ward states:
"Mary is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the children of Clifton Heights by addressing recreational needs, especially for the teenage population lack of services our children are receiving in Special Education by working with Upper Darby School Board. Mary is focused and passionate about meeting the needs of families in Clifton Heights, serving the elderly, single parents, for those that are struggling with various issues."
The key words are "Quality of life for the children". That is what matters to me. See, the way I was brought up (Catholic school where the evil nuns solved your ADHD with a ruler) was that us as kids had fun growing up. We also had responsibilities, in which if we did not keep, were met with an iron fist, not kid gloves and Ritalin. There's more to it than running a campaign where you can find faults in your opponent (Well, maybe I'm wrong, look at rove vs. McCain in 2000), than to really come out and tell it like it is, what you can do to change your area in a positive light.
P.S. Your donkey looks like a Hyena :)
needs a paint job
P.S.S. This sign needs a fresh coat of paint.

Bad Apples In Every Profession

In today's online edition of the Daily Times you can read about a Delaware County Deputy Sheriff who was arrested after being charged with threatening his estranged wife and her 9-year-old son with a gun. The Deputy, Martin Hineman, was arrested at a local Wawa after a brief manhunt. Thank God no one was hurt, unlike what happened to these people out in Wisconsin. Bottom line? Everyone has the ability to snap. Even those who carry guns in their profession. To the anti gun people I say: What do you do about this?

Why the GOP must nominate Ron Paul

My friend Erin from Texas knows Ron Paul is the only true Conservative Republican out there. It's time Republicans here in Pennsylvania take notice of Ron Paul. Ron Paul is a true Conservative, and no one can spin his record, including the MSM shills like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Rielly, or Shawn Hannity, so called "Republican Conservative commentators. Even the Democrats cannot fathom what Ron Paul is about. Instead they choose skanky Hillary Clinton, a woman who has no intentions of withdrawing out of the M.E. Myself, like Erin, are quite aware that Ron Paul is a long shot to win. But I'd rather vote for Hillary than a guy who dresses up in drag and uses 9/11 as his platform. Read on... SmallGovTimes.com By: Joe Dumas Published on 10/02/07 Why must the Republican Party nominate a 72-year-old grandfather from the Gulf Coast of Texas, until the past few months little known outside his district, as its 2008 standard-bearer? Very simple: the alternative is eight years of President Hillary Clinton. That ought to be enough to get the attention of every conservative who happens upon these words, so let me explain. It should come as no big revelation to anyone inside or outside of the Republican Party that the GOP has lost touch with its conservative roots. Massive deficit spending that would make Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter blush; foreign adventurism beyond the wildest dreams of Woodrow Wilson or Teddy Roosevelt; more big government programs than FDR or LBJ (Google “Medicare expansion” for a massive example) ... the Republican Party of the early 21st century is clearly not your father’s or grandfather’s GOP. There are no more Robert Tafts, no more Barry Goldwaters, not even any more Ronald Reagans (as imperfect as he turned out to be after reaching the White House) ... except one: Ron Paul. Dr. Paul (an OB/GYN who has delivered more than 4,000 babies) is the last, best hope for the GOP to reclaim its once-upon-a-time status as the party of limited government. It isn’t his status as the leading advocate of limited, Constitutional government that makes Ron Paul a must-nominate for the GOP, though. It is true that in the long run, the Republican Party needs him to help it reclaim its nearly dead conservative spirit, and this indeed will be his lasting legacy. But, in the short run, the party needs him to win the 2008 election and save the country from another Clinton presidency that would be far worse than the first. (Unlike Bill, who was apparently mainly involved in politics to get the attention of the ladies, Hillary is a true believer in socialism; and, with a Democratic majority in Congress, she will have an excellent opportunity to expedite its widespread implementation in America.) Fact one: Hillary Clinton will win the 2008 Democratic nomination. She is an experienced, cut-throat politician with deep ties in the party, and can take Barack Obama down pretty much any time she wants to. And John Edwards is not serious about pursuing the nomination. He is just positioning himself to be the VP nominee again, because in the wake of the 2006 Congressional elections he believes that Hillary will win the Presidency by taking a few key states where John Kerry fell short. Long story short: forget the others – Hillary is the woman to beat in 2008. Fact two: The 2008 election will be won by the candidate who most credibly addresses the growing anti-war sentiment that has been embraced by the majority of the country’s voters. (Google “2006 mid-term elections.”) 70% or more of Americans want our troops out of Iraq, and for many of them, it is the defining issue of the campaign. You may agree or disagree, but it’s a fact and it is going to decide the 2008 Presidential election. If it comes down to Hillary Clinton vs. any of the “establishment” Republican candidates, she wins by default. She may have voted for the war originally, but she will continue to claim that she was misled by the Republican administration, and that we should trust her to make things right. (Of course she won’t really get us out of the Middle East mess, but Joe Six-Pack won’t figure that out until after she wins the election.) If any of the supposed “front runner” Republican candidates (Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain, or Fred Thompson) wins the GOP nomination, Hillary Clinton is essentially a lock. Not only will she win over a sizable portion of the independent vote with her (perceived) status as “the anti-war candidate,” but – simply put – the GOP will not turn out its base in sufficient numbers to win. Nominate Rudy Giuliani? Conservative, red-state voters are not going to turn out to support a gun-grabbing Northern liberal faux Republican who dresses in drag and is a charter member of the Wife-Of-The-Month Club. The social conservatives, along with the fiscal conservatives and the key swing voters (libertarians and constitutionalists) will either stay home on Election Day or vote third party. Rudy won’t even carry his home state, and ask Al Gore how that usually works out. Slam dunk, Hillary wins. Nominate Mitt Romney? You get basically the same result as Giuliani without the (bogus) “America’s Mayor” 9/11 cachet. Conservatives in the South and West won’t turn out for the former governor of “Taxachusetts” who has flip-flopped on virtually every issue they hold dear. The fact that Romney is a Mormon won’t help him with the mainstream Christian base, either. He probably can’t win the GOP nomination, but even if he does, Romney is toast in the general election. Nominate John McCain? Not gonna happen. His campaign has taken a nose dive from which it will be virtually impossible to recover. As of the end of the second quarter, even (supposed) long-shot Ron Paul had more cash on hand - and, when the third quarter numbers come in, McCain will be even further behind in the money game. He probably won’t even be in the top five on the GOP side. Stick a fork in him, he’s done. And even if he could pull off the apparently impossible and come back to win the Republican nomination, he loses to Hillary on the war and many domestic issues as well. Fred Thompson? He’s the last hope of those Republicans who are looking for a “mainstream” candidate to save them from looming, seemingly inevitable defeat in 2008. On the surface, he appears to have more of a chance than the previously mentioned “big three.” After all, he has the “actor factor.” It worked for Reagan and, more recently, Arnold Schwarzenegger in California – couldn’t it work for Fred, too? Well, no, not this time around. Like Ronald Reagan, Fred Thompson is reasonably good at reading a script. Unlike the Gipper, though, Fred is just awful at speaking extemporaneously. In case anyone was wondering why Thompson waited so long to declare his candidacy, it’s obvious to those who know anything about his abilities and liabilities: he wanted to avoid as many debates as possible. Like Obama on the Democratic side, Thompson is an empty suit. He looks reasonably presentable, but sooner or later he has to open his mouth, and when he does he doesn’t say anything of substance. And not only does he lack speaking skills and charisma, but his positions (if one can call them that) are mush. If possible, he flip-flops even more than Giuliani or Romney. The less he speaks in public (especially with other candidates around to rebut him), the better for Fred. Unfortunately for Thompson, while he has so far been able to duck any direct confrontation with his GOP rivals, he won’t be able to avoid debating Hillary if he wins the Republican nomination. And about five minutes into the first debate, with no “Law and Order” writers to put words in his mouth, it will be over. Game, set, match, Hillary. Oh, and by the way, the one issue on which Fred Thompson has come closest to articulating something resembling a consistent position is our continued involvement in Iraq. He’s for it. That’s not going to fly in November 2008 any more than it did in November 2006. When you look at it objectively, there isn’t a single one of the “Big Four” GOP candidates who can beat Hillary Clinton head-to-head. And none of the “second tier” candidates (Huckabee, Brownback, Hunter, Tancredo, et al) have stepped up to the challenge. Really, there is only one remaining viable Republican candidate: You guessed it, Ron Paul. Only Ron Paul can take advantage of the Internet the way Howard Dean did before he imploded four years ago. Indeed, he has already captured the Internet ... the Ron Paul Revolution is already in full swing online. It sure was nice of Al Gore to invent the Net for Ron Paul supporters to take over, wasn’t it? Only Ron Paul can outflank Hillary Clinton both to the left on the war and civil liberties, and to the right on everything else ... which is the only winning strategy the Republicans can plausibly employ in 2008. Only Ron Paul, who is truly pro-family (married to the same woman for over 50 years, with 5 children and 18 grandchildren – no “trophy wives” here) can motivate the socially conservative base to actually turn out and vote. Only Ron Paul, who wants to eliminate the IRS (and a host of other federal agencies) and stop the Federal Reserve from devaluing our money through runaway, printing-press inflation, can motivate the fiscally conservative base to cast a GOP ballot in 2008. Only Ron Paul can keep the Libertarians and Constitution Party members from splintering off to support their own third-party nominees rather than another neo-con, Bush clone Republican. (In fact, the 2004 nominees of the Constitution Party and the Libertarian Party, Michael Peroutka and Michael Badnarik, have both already endorsed Ron Paul’s candidacy.) While the LP and CP typically command only a small fraction of the overall vote, that may well be enough to turn the tide in a crucial state or two. Ask Al Gore if he could have used half a million, or even a few thousand, of Ralph Nader’s votes in 2000.... Yes, when you look at things objectively, there are only two candidates who can win the White House in 2008: Hillary Clinton and Ron Paul. The contrast could not be more stark, nor the results for the future of America more divergent. If you are a social or fiscal conservative, a libertarian, a constitutionalist, or just an independent concerned about the future of our country ... now is the time to consider your options and act accordingly while there is still time to affect the outcome. The Ron Paul Revolution has begun!

Going To The Dogs?

FEZ, our dog.. Mean to strangers, But lovable and faithful I read recently that our current County Council is going to turn Kent Park into a "Dog Park", at a cost of over $440 thousand dollars. My sons and me like to fish in that area, especially above the dam. While the concept of this park is a noble one, Imagine the legal ramifications of having it. Let's say a dog (like one of those nasty pit bulls) gets loose and mauls a child? Or the same pit bull attacks my little Chihuahua? Quote from the County Web Site: "There is a lot of public support across the county for dog parks. These are facilities set aside for dogs and their owners to exercise and play off-leash in a controlled environment,” Cartisano said. “This isn’t just a dog issue; it’s a people issue. We want to establish a fenced-in dog park where well-behaved canines can exercise in a clean, safe environment without disturbing other people, wildlife or property.” "Well-behaved canines" means over 70 percent of dogs (including our dog) will not be allowed into the park. C'mon now. Dogs hate other dogs. Chihuahua's are mean and nasty. Our's was an SPCA dog, and after he gotten sick, the vet saw evidence of abuse (cracked ribs), etc from the former owners. So will they have an obedience school at our disposal there? "A clean, safe environment without disturbing other people, wildlife or property." And the issue of trying to fish while hundreds of barking, snarling mutts isn't my cup of tea either. What about the locals? Would you like to work 3rd shift and have to come home to hear mutts barking while being forced to smell dog crap? My answer is to build a recreation center, complete with a "skate park". The youth of Delaware County need s p a c e more so than "Man's best friend". Kids today are in some areas (Springfield) forbidden to skateboard on public property. I would be the first to volunteer to oversee the children, and maybe even strap on my Rollerblades and show them a thing or two. To those who remember "Tot Lot", and "Box Hockey" in UD. Those were the good old days, before X Box, PS2, and even this Pandora's box in which I type this post, items that rob America's youth of an interactive personal childhood, complete with fights, friendship, competitiveness, and scraping your knee. Build a decent recreation center FOR CHILDREN, Not DOGS. Cheers. UPDATE - 7/22/08: According to the News Of Delaware County, The Dog Park is officially open tomorrow. Will Oni bring her Pit Bull to meet my Chihuahua? Posted on Tue, Jul 22, 2008 New county dog park opens July 24 in Upper Darby Delaware County Council invites dog owners who have well-behaved canines to enjoy the county's first dog park, located in Kent Park in Upper Darby.Dog owners can let their canine pals romp unleashed in the fenced-in facility, which is part of an overall renovation to the Kent Park facility. The dog park is part of Delaware County's extensive parks system, which features 11 parks and 616 acres of open, protected space that enhances the environment and gives people a place to exercise, enjoy nature and build community. The Delaware County Department of Parks and Recreation and Upper Darby Township are operating the dog park at Kent Park jointly. The dog park is part of a renovated multi-recreational area that features a playground, fishing area, and the separate fenced-in dog park, complete with a covered pavilion, benches, water and, of course, dog-litter bags. Kent Park is a scenic 10-acre stretch of green that runs along Darby Creek under the historic Lindbergh Bridge. Kent Park is a county-owned park that has traditionally been used for hiking and fishing. Advertisement The Kent Park recreational area is part of a broader plan to create a Greenway along Darby Creek. In response to dog owners, Kent Park offers a fenced-in area for dogs to get fresh air, exercise and playtime with other dogs. The Kent Park Dog Park features two fenced-in areas: one for dogs 25 pounds and larger; and one for smaller dogs. Both enclosures are double-gated to prevent dogs from getting loose. Park users are required to register their dogs with Delaware County/Upper Darby, and to abide by the rules and regulations designed to keep the park safe and well-maintained. Kent Park Dog Park is located in the 3900 block of Bridge Street, off of Baltimore Pike in Upper Darby. Hours are 8 a.m. to dusk daily. People must register their dogs to obtain a key fob for entrance. Current license and rabies inoculation are required. Registration is $20 per household; $10 for renewal; $10 for senior citizens and $5 for renewal. Limited Introductory Use: The computer system for the access key fobs is still being installed. Until that is complete, dog owners will have access to the dog park from 4 to 8 p.m. weeknights and 10 a.m. 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. People still need to register and they will be notified when the key fob system is complete.

David Landau - A One Trick Pony?

I've been interested in the up coming election for Delaware County Council in November now for a few months, thanks to David Landau moving into my town of Clifton Heights. I have visited both parties web sites, and although both talk a good talk, Fizzano Cannon, McGarrigle, and Lewis of Delco 2007 have EXPERIENCE and have served Delco well according to my observations, abit some issues that I'll describe below.

Wasteful Spending: To David: Why spend how many thousands of dollars to rent a campaign HQ here in Clifton? That is wasteful spending. Myself and other people residing in the "Blue Collar" section of Delaware County are quite content with the way things are running, and do not want to see Delco be consumed by Philadelphia, like it did to Mayfair, Roxborough, and the greater northeast, an agenda that you Democrats have been trying to do for decades!

Response to your Problem: I asked Nick Micozzie to look into a matter concerning a neighbor, and he responded. So did his Son and also Tom Judge, all Republicans serving Delco. They actually responded to me, so I in turn feel that they are worthy of being elected. That's what gets people elected. To be fair to you, your spokesman, George Matysik, has responded to me via email in a positive way, and insists that you are sincere in your ambition to serve us.

Cronyism: There is one issue that David brought forth, that has me interested. "The one trick pony issue" mentioned as the title to this post that has me interested in him. It's called Cronyism. I know of several people who own companies who have a lock on contracts in the county and have had for years, and why they do is not a secret anymore. Unfortunately, this issue is a non issue, as most voters in Delaware County are not self employed, and couldn't give it another thought. Another thing is the issue of Upper Darby, once a decent place to live, now turned into an extension of West Philadelphia. David, what would you be willing to do to resolve this?

Number ONE Problem: What I want County Council to do is to BAN Section 8 housing in Delaware County. Period. Scumbags who play the system represent over 95 percent of the applicants. Our so called "Tax Dollars" fund these people, while people like myself, pay top dollar to live in the area, not to mention NO HEALTH CARE. These are MY issues, and many other voters who will decide the outcome in November. Enough of ranting tonight, I need to find some work to do tomorrow as a self employed electrician so I can pay my bills. Cheers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Links to the candidates for Delaware County County Council: David Landau Just kidding, here's the real link to David's web site.. 10/8/2007 - *NEW* Ann O'Keefe for Delaware County County Council! Hamsher Fever

Jane Hamsher - The most wanted blogger in Delaware County
A few days ago I posted something on both the Haverford Blog and our own forum, telling everyone that I was setting up a blogger meet at a local bar. I also stated that Jane Hamsher (of Firedoglake), Above Average Jane (of Aboveavejane), Akkam (from Akkam's Razor), and hopefully a few others could (not would) be in attendance. I was amazed of the flood of e mails that I received, 23 in all, asking me if Jane Hamsher was really going to be there! Cripes, don't people actually READ? I never said that she was going to be there, I said " Also in attendance could be".. I trully wish Jane would have shown up, but number one, I believe she lives in Virginia! Two, I don't know her personally, and if I did It's not like I could call her up and say: Hi Jane, this is Fran. I'm having a blogger meet at Peabody's and I want you here NOW! Even if I did know her, she would probably tell me to **** off, and I wouldn't blame her one bit. (Us Men are so demanding at times, aren't we?) Finally, I received one e mail from a liberal Democrat asking me if I could confirm that Jane Hamsher would be in attendance. Thankfully I read it and replied that Noooo She wouldn't be there, that I was only kidding! Two people did show up, and we had a good chat, abit brief. The first thing that they asked was: Is Jane here? P.S. I was hoping John Gault would have shown up..

Welcome to the United States of America!

Spam message about immigration Today I received an e mail trying to sell me citizenship to the United States. Gee, I though that I was already a citizen, being that I was born right here in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. Intrigued, I clicked on the link. alas, it took me to some bs link farm website (I was expecting something different.) The ad got me to thinking.. What if everyone who made it into the US was automatically deemed a US citizen? This could happen only if certain things were changed of course, namely the U.S. constitution. But if George Bush would become supreme emperor of this country, he could throw the Constitution into the trash, and grant these people of his "New World Order" their wish. What do you think? Is that a good deal or what! Cheers to all you immigrunts!

It's Because We RULE!

Number of Lefties Bounces Back By Andrea Thompson, LiveScience Staff Writer Lefties have been bouncing back in recent decades, following a decline in the beginning of the 20th century, a new study shows. While lefties currently make up about 11 percent of the population, earlier studies found only 3 percent of those born in 1900 were left-handed. These claims led Ian Christopher McManus of the University College London and his colleagues to learn more about this change. "Left-handedness is important because more than 10 percent of people have their brains organized in a qualitatively different way to other people," McManus said. "That has to be interesting. When the rate of a [variable trait] changes, then there have to be causes, and they are interesting as well." To tease out the cause of the lefties' decline in Victorian times, the researchers looked at a series of films made between 1897 and 1913 by early filmmakers Sagar Mitchell and James Kenyon, whose body of work forms the largest collection of early non-fiction films in the world. McManus and his team identified 391 arm-wavers in the films and compared the number of lefties and righties in the old movie to a more modern "control group" formed by searching for "waving" with Google Images. About 15 percent of the people in the old films waved with their left hand, compared to 24 percent of lefty wavers in the Google search, the study, published in the Sept. 18 issue of the journal Current Biology, found. The researchers compared these results to previous studies of handedness in writing and found that left-handed waving is more common than left-handed writing. After correcting for this bias, the researchers found that "the earlier Victorian rates of left-handedness are broadly equivalent to modern rates, whereas rates then decline, with the lowest values for those born between about 1890 and 1910," McManus said. The lefties in the Victorian films were typically older, which rules out the possibility of higher rates of mortality among lefties. The most likely reason that lefties dropped in numbers at the turn of the 20th century was possible social influence brought about by universal education and the industrial revolution. These two factors would have forced lefties into the spotlight as they learned to write in the classroom or clumsily used machines built for right-handers. "That would have exacerbated the stigma that any visible minority can experience, and the result could have been that left-handers found it more difficult to find marriage partners, marrying later, and hence having fewer children so that fewer of the relevant genes went into the gene pool," McManus told LiveScience. "And we do have evidence that around the turn of the 20th century left-handers had fewer children than right-handers."

No Smoking in Delaware County?

Cross posted from my personal blog Last night I went up to Roxborough to visit my Daughter Natalie. I wound up at the Parker Pub and was hanging out with her aunt Carrie (Pictured). Anyway, dumb ass me lights up a Winston. Carrie immediately told me you can't smoke in here! I forgot all about the recent smoking ban in Philly.

I grumbled for a second, then went out the door. Carrie followed me, and she also lit one up. I have to admit, going out the door to light up was a pain in the ass, and I found myself accepting the ban.
Delaware County has a proposal I believe to ban smoking in taverns.
I believe that it is a good idea, as it would curb me and others from a nasty habit.
Cheers..

Flashback - Where I was six years ago today

I thought about where I was and what I was doing on September eleventh, 2001. I was at Hilltop Preparatory School in Radnor, giving an estimate on a new fire alarm system. Today, I also was at the same school, replacing an exhaust fan, when the fire alarm went off at 9:03 AM. The alarm was a false one, but sent chills down my spine for a different reason. Six years ago today, America was changed, and almost 3000 people paid for this change with their lives. Thousands more have been sickened by toxins in NYC, and God knows how many more have died. Meanwhile, a token gesture today by the President to me wasn't enough. Mr. Bush... Quit side stepping this aggression of yours and either devote ALL of your energy to finish what you started in Iraq and elsewhere, or resign. And take Cheney and the rest of your cabal with you. America and it's citizens are fed up with you and your stonewalling, as Johnson did in the sixties in southeast Asia. Were are not stupid. We (even the youth of this country) are on to what you and yours are all about. We know about physics. We know about media manipulation, we know about mouthpieces like Bill O'Reilly and the others at FAUX who continue to this day to spew falsehoods about that fateful day. Give up, and while your at it, tell that guy who dresses up in drag to quit demeaning the first responders in NYC by running as as some super 911 hero to get votes. He ain't fooling anyone anymore. And neither are you. Remember 9/11/01

Memories Of Graduation

Memories Of Graduation I posted this You Tube link on My Space the other day, in the hope of trying to sway my Son to go back to Upper Darby High School. I don't know if he watched it, but he told me today that he wanted to return to Upper Darby High School and get a "real diploma", as both myself, his Mother,Brother, and Sisters have received in the past. Only thing is, I'm sure I will find resistance from the Upper Darby School Board, along with certain teachers and administrators.Well So be it! I have my own "options" to put "on the table". They surely know this, and so does my attorney. My advise? Let sleeping dogs lie. Cheers.

Airplanes Over Delco

It seems that no power on earth can stop the FAA from implementing the new flight plan over Delaware County, Our Congressman, Senators, and State Legislators have run into the immovable Federal bureaucracy. Your advice to buy earplugs, though facetious, is what we have been left with as an alternative.Beyond the noise the added flights will cause, who will we call if a tragedy happens. I'd love to have that number. Are we who live in Delaware County so unimportant that saving time for travelers will endanger our good and hard working people. My question is who profits from this action? Who is behind this push to serve the few while hurting millions. I don't have the answer, but I know someone does. The implications of this decision will have long lasting and negative effects for everyone who lives in Delco. I called the FAA to find the person behind this misguided action, needless to say I was "disconnected". I applaud Andy Reilly and Joe Sestak for fighting the good fight, and I find ridiculous suggestions to cause delays at the airport. What I do know is that I don't want to live in a flight path and if someday I'm in a position to join those working to fight this catastrophe I will work for our community. Meanwhile, Editorials, hard working officials and citizens who will make their voices heard is the best chance we have to stop the FAA.

Wild Bill And The Date Rape Caper

date rape
I just watched "Dateline" on NBC with "Wild bill" Stanton. He had a segment about what men would do if they saw another man slip a "date rape" drug into a woman's drink while they went to the bathroom. Amazingly, not ONE man intervened! In fact, several were gung ho in knowing what they think had happened and one even had the balls to walk down the beach under the boardwalk for "sloppy seconds"! I have one question for these losers. What if it was your Mother or Sister or Wife or Girlfriend? Would you react differently? Would you try to stop the predator? You see, twice in my life I had to deal with predators of this caliber. The first time in 1980, involved a former GF who was raped by some heathen. I would and still would to this day kill him in a slow painful way if I had the chance, Yes, I am that kind of guy. The second, in 1988, involved my wife at the former"Divine's" in Upper Darby. She was slipped a "Mickey" by some spic with pock marks right in front of me, only 15 feet away with Joe Stefferi, a local entertainer and musician. They tried (the scumbag and his three friends, one a woman no lie) to pull her out the side door. Only by chance, Joe (Who knew my wife) stopped playing the piano and yelled to me. The scumbags left her and ran out the door to a waiting car. Paul Schneider, a former homicide detective and CID operative, also came to her aide. Paul and both of us are friends, and he couldn't believe what had transpired right in front of him. Back to "Dateline"... In all of the stories, only one girl didn't let Wild Bill in the door. My advise? Don't trust ANYONE. you'll sleep better at night. And, if you live in Upper Darby, especially Stonehurst, beware.. There are sick fucks roaming the streets at night.

Have A Great Labor Day!

Yes, it's Sunday, a beautiful day here in Delaware County. I've noticed that this blog has recently received minimal comments. My belief is that most Delconians are too busy enjoying the holiday, either locally or down the shore. Take a look at the video above, and kindly give me your opinion of it. My opinion is that we are headed to a dictatorship, one that makes Hitler look like a child playing in traffic. Cheers and have a safe and enjoyable weekend holiday.

I Haven't Got A Clue..

I found this in my e-mail inbox: World's first human accelerator (50 drummers drumming, 15 dancers moving, 5 video makers projecting, and one accelerator ring). nitty gritty: date: Friday, 7 September 2007 location: northwest corner of 2nd & Race run times: 7:45 PM, 8:30 & 9:30 (each set is approximately 20 minutes) rain date: it won't rainurl: http://www.principlesofuncertainty.org/admission charge: none As you may know, particle accelerators basically smash things up just to see what happens. Our experiment will basically take the same approach with people in place of subatomic particles. The "thinking" here is that the chance of something interesting happening may increase whenever you bring lots of people together. Our particular experiment was designed with the help of the kind experts at Fermilab http://www.fnal.gov/. Their machine achieves about 2 million proton-anti proton collisions per second. This project has no federal funding so we're shooting for about 25 every 20minutes. The experiments will be free and open to the public. More info & a FAQ here: http://principlesofuncertainty.org/ http://principlesofuncertainty.org/FAQ.html I did some research and found that this person is behind this mysterious "black" project. I cannot attend, being that my wife's birthday is the next day. but to those who do, please fill me in on the outcome.. Cheers.

Abandoned Bunnies

This afternoon my Son and I were cutting our neighbors lawn. Nick had just cut over a section of grass when the neighbor motioned for him to turn off the mower. To my surprise the bunnies were unscathed, huddled in their shallow boro. Four little bunny rabbits left alone to fend for themselves.. Earlier in the week, my wife saw a dead rabbit who was hit by a car at the top of our street. I'm wondering if it was these little one's Mommy. If so, I doubt if they have a chance to live, being that they are so little with no one to guard them or nourish them. We had domesticated bunny rabbits back when we were first married. One of them got pregnant and died after delivering five bunnies. My wife and I tried to feed them everything that we were told to by our vet,but to no avail. one by one they all died of starvation. It was sad and frustrating. What a shame for these bunnies..

Gil Spencer Has A Blog!

I read about it this morning in the Daily Times. Good to see that Gil is finally getting into the Blogosphere. I had e-mailed Gil several times in the past to become a contributor of this blog, but no bites. It would have been interesting to see the comments that would have come after one of his "Bush" loving posts lol. I guess maybe that he had come across one of my posts directed toward him. If so, then I couldn't blame him one bit for refusing. I actually do like Gil, have met him a few times, and thought that his article that he did about Tommy Geromichalos was sincere and started the ball rolling to keep St.Cyril's School open. So I look forward to reading his blog, and maybe post a comment or two. Cheers. P.S. The link to his blog is not working as of 10:50 AM. P.S.S. His blog is up and working.. The Revolution Is Here - Ain't No Stopping US Now

I grew up in this era, with the Vietnam war, Johnson, Nixon, draft card burning, anti war, etc and found this video only fitting for the RON PAUL REVOLUTION! Forget about Mitt Romney, he didn't win shit in Iowa, as the investigation on the rigging of the Diebold voting machines will prove. There's NO STOPPING US now, Do you hear that you Dem's with your next "Clinton"?

America needs a drastic change, and you won't see any MSM outlets helping to report the real truth, including the Daily Times. Get out of Iraq and the middle east, quit bowing to Israel, Saudi Arabia and all these "special interest" groups that lobby you senators and congressmen and women, Secure our borders, and for God sakes repeal the Patriot Act and re open the investigation on what really happened on 9-11-2001! Along with it, how about securing our borders, get rid of the Federal Reserve and IRS, and imprison all of the CEO's of the big corporations that have been raping us for decades!

Yeah, that's a tall order to fill, the last President to try to do this was JFK, and look what happened to him. Bottom line is: The "next" 9-11 that happens in this country will be scrutinized, examined, and most of all, disbelieved by a large informed segment of Americans and of course the rest of the world. How we react will determine the outcome of our once Republic, as in the Republic of the United States of America. So I say to you one last time:

Your either with US or against US..

Sound familiar?

Invitation to be a contributor of this blog

Being that I'm the only one who posts here on a regular basis without just a political point of view, I am inviting anyone who lives here in Delaware County who has the time and energy and motivation to be a part of this blog. you can blog just about anything, including what's on your mind. There are some rules, like no super duper porn crap (my web host would can me) , or anything deemed illegal (Excluding the current gestapo DHS mandates).. In other words, I put this blog out at first for myself, and then for others.. If the current contributors don't want to post or post just political shit, I guess I'll be deleting everyone and make it the way it was. Why I am doing this is because of a comment from a friend about the blog. She said "You have all those contributors and not a one contributes anything!" This did not go over well with me and I went home and here I am now... So, how about it. If you want to be a part of this here blog and actually post something, send me an e mail explaining why. Cheers and Go FLYERS!

Delaware County For Ron Paul

In an earlier post, I briefly posted on why I think that Ron Paul should be elected president in 2008. After reading about the Iowa Straw Poll, and the fact that I believe it was rigged for Romney, only reinforces my belief that the Republican party needs a major overhaul. Ron Paul is one of three candidates (the other two are Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich, both Democrats), that say that they would bring our troops home from the Middle East. This so called "War" is killing thousands of American men and women. Didn't we learn anything from Vietnam? Look at Russia, who got it's asses handed to them in Afghanistan in the 80's while we funded Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban. Ron Paul will put an end to this. He will not stoop to the big corporate lobbyist. He is against "Nation Building". He respects and says he will uphold the Constitution of the United States, an oath that Bush took and has laughed at ever since. If you really love America, wake up and get involved. I would like to see Ron Paul here in Clifton Heights. I would like to see him as my president in 2008. If you would also like to see him here, click on the eventful picture above. Cheers. P.S. Interesting video about what the Federal Reserve Bank has done with our nations wealth. Click Here.

Landau County Council

DAVID LANDAU FOR DELAWARE COUNTY COUNCIL www.davidlandau.net PRESS RELEASE Contact: George Matysik 610-623-7402 georgematysik@gmail.com For Immediate Release Business and Labor Leaders Unite Behind David Landau LINWOOD, PA- Members of the business, labor, and education communities joined County Council Candidate David Landau on Thursday to introduce his "A New Day in Delaware County Plan." "When are the Republicans going to learn that job creation extends beyond their friends and political contributors?" asked Landau. "We need a responsible county government. And we need it today." "We are trailing our neighboring counties in creating good paying jobs," said Landau. "Yet this Republican administration seems more concerned with giving handouts to their friends. It's right of the patronage play-book, authored by George W. Bush." Landau provided two examples of the Bush-style job creation program. The County Commerce Center provides free banner advertising on their website for the private firms of elected Republican Party and Government officials. Controller Cynthia Leitzell's accounting firm Leitzell & Economidisand Sheriff Joe McGinn's Photo Express Inc. are among the chosen few who receive this free marketing advantage. Rather than being concerned with political favors, the courthouse should be addressing the various needs of Delaware County residents. Delaware County has trailed neighboring counties in obtaining assistance while providing favors for a select few. Key initiatives available to Pennsylvania businesses such as the Opportunity Grant Program and the Small Business First Program have been underutilized by the Delaware County Government. According to the National Association of State Development Agencies, "Pennsylvania has the best-funded business assistance programs in the nation." "This seems to be a disturbing reoccurring theme with Delaware County Council," Landau remarked. "The money is available to us, yet we're lagging behind our peers." "Our population is stagnating, and we're losing business establishments," said Landau. "This trend does not bode well in our favor for the future of Delaware County." Delaware County lost over 8,000 net jobs between 1998 and 2005. 1 of 5 manufacturing establishments has closed its doors between 2003 and 2006. Last month, the Eddystone-based Foamex plant announced it was closing, putting 125 employees out of work. "Good paying manufacturing jobs are leaving Delaware County and everyone at the Media Courthouse seems okay with that," chided Jim Savage, of Steelworkers Local 10-1. Since 1979, the Delaware County General Fund budget has ballooned over 75% adjusted for inflation. "Given the high increase in the cost of Delaware County government, we should expect to obtain the services we're paying for," said Elisabeth Knapp Landau pointed to programs of minimal costs, which form collaborations between area schools and businesses. "We must work together to foster relationships between area colleges and businesses and end the 'brain-drain' from our local colleges and universities," said Landau "We need to hold the county government accountable, and move our economy into the 21 st century."

What Is Scleroderma?

My wife has been dealing with this disease now for nearly ten years. I have researched the subject almost as long and still cannot come up with definitive answers that I want. What causes Scleroderma? Why is it that women are four times likely to develop it? Why isn't there more research on it? After all, the big pharma corporations have billions to spend, right? This much I do know. Scleroderma, or systemic sclerosis, is a chronic connective tissue disease generally classified as one of the autoimmune rheumatic diseases. The word “scleroderma” comes from two Greek words: “sclero” meaning hard, and “derma” meaning skin. Hardening of the skin is one of the most visible manifestations of the disease. The disease has been called “progressive systemic sclerosis,” but the use of that term has been discouraged since it has been found that scleroderma is not necessarily progressive. The disease may take several forms which will be explained later. There is also much variability among patients. What scleroderma is not Scleroderma is not contagious, it is not infectious, it is not cancerous or malignant. How serious is scleroderma? Any chronic disease can be serious. The symptoms of scleroderma vary greatly from individual to individual, and the effects of scleroderma can range from very mild to life-threatening. The seriousness will depend on what parts of the body are affected and the extent to which they are affected. A mild case can become more serious if not properly treated. Prompt and proper diagnosis and treatment by qualified physicians may minimize the symptoms of scleroderma and lessen the chance for irreversible damage. How is scleroderma diagnosed? The diagnostic process may require consultation with rheumatologists (arthritis specialists), and/or dermatologists (skin specialists) and require blood studies and numerous other specialized tests depending upon which organs are affected. Who develops scleroderma, and when? There are an estimated 300,000 people in the United States who have scleroderma, about one third of whom have the systemic form of scleroderma. Since scleroderma presents with symptoms similar to other autoimmune diseases, diagnosis is difficult and there may be many misdiagnosed or undiagnosed cases as well. Localized scleroderma is more common in children, whereas systemic scleroderma is more common in adults. Overall female patients outnumber male patients about four to one, and the average age at diagnosis is in the forties. Factors other than sex, such as race and ethnic background, may influence the risk of getting scleroderma, the age of onset, and the pattern or severity of internal organ involvement. The reasons for this are not clear. Although scleroderma is not directly inherited, some scientists feel there is a slight predisposition to it in families with a history of rheumatic diseases. However, scleroderma can develop and is found in every age group from infants to the elderly, but its onset is most frequent between the ages of 25 to 55. When doctors say "usually" or "for the most part," the reader should understand that variations frequently occur. Many patients get alarmed when they read medical information that seems to contradict their own experiences, and conclude that what has happened to them is not supposed to happen. There are many exceptions to the rules in scleroderma, perhaps more so than in other diseases. Each case is different, and information should be discussed with your own doctor. What causes scleroderma? The exact cause or causes of scleroderma are still unknown, but scientists and medical investigators in a wide variety of fields are working hard to make those determinations. It is known that scleroderma involves overproduction of collagen. Is scleroderma genetic? Most patients do not have any relatives with scleroderma and their children do not get scleroderma. Research indicates that there is a susceptibility gene which raises the likelihood of getting scleroderma, but by itself does not cause the disease. What is the treatment for scleroderma? At the present time, there is no cure for scleroderma, but there are many treatments available. Some are directed at particular symptoms like heartburn, which can be controlled by medications called proton pump inhibitors or medicine to improve the motion of the bowel. Some treatments are directed at decreasing the activity of the immune system. Some people with mild disease may not need medication at all and occasionally people can go off treatment when their scleroderma is no longer active. Because there is so much variation from one person to another there is great variation in the treatments prescribed. P.S. I have a friend from Delco who's wife died from this horrible disease last year. If you care to donate, please click here:

Coming To YOUR Town Sooner Than You Think

"He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.") All in the name of "fighting those nasty terrorists". much like the failed "War on Drugs", witch only provides billions of revenue to illegal outfits like the BATF, and DEA, the RFID debacle is heating up. Cameras will be first, like the Brits have. Then you will have to be chipped to be able to buy anything. Orwell had it dead on, only off by 25 + years. Cheers.

Our Last Hope For Our Republic - Ron Paul

I'll spell it out to all of you briefly.. Ron Paul, a Republican Congressman from Texas is bidding for the Republican nomination for President in 2008. Rather than getting in a debate as to why I feel he is the best and only candidate to straighten out our Country, I'll let you decide. I already have made up my mind. Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record: He has never voted to raise taxes. He has never voted for an unbalanced budget. He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. He has never voted to raise congressional pay.He has never taken a government-paid junket. He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. He voted against the Patriot Act. He voted against regulating the Internet. He voted against the Iraq war. He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program. He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year. Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress. More about Ron Paul to come. Cheers....

Worthy read on a Saturday afternoon

I was flipping thru my favourite rag today and came accross the below article. Charlie is yet another Delconian that has waken up to the facts that the MSM has been trying to hide for years. Read on... Unqualified candidate now our president By Charlie Rodgers, Times Guest Columinst By CHARLIE RODGERS Times Guest Columnist Trying to explain how myself and millions of other Americans feel about President Bush is a little risky. I have to be careful what I say, use only polite criticism, and keep away from strong expletive. I have to carefully measure every word — I don’t want Bush’s law firm (U.S. Department of Justice) charging me with sedition or treason, and waiting for the FBI or CIA or even the Texas Rangers to come knocking at my door. Of those three agencies, I fear the Texas Rangers most, and the thought of being hauled back to Houston for a fair trial (and sentencing). But … what the hell, here goes. My opinion of Bush started forming back when he was considered the presidential nominee for his first term. Ron Reagan, President Reagan’s son, made this under-publicized comment: “George Bush is totally unqualified to be president, and everyone around him knows it.” Well, we all know that Bush won the nomination and was elected fairly. Right? Ron’s opinion didn’t count all that much. His opinion was framed when George W. and was in D.C. as part of the vice president’s family. Using that license, that authority, his antics became the subject of insider gossip. So much that his daddy had to chastise him. It didn’t take any research for Ron to come up with his opinion — he and other White House people were cautioned about this sophomoric prankster, they just had to listen. The stories flew around the capitol, mostly true, some not. No door was closed to little George. He assumed the authority of his father’s office and nobody dared challenge him. His foolish antics were tolerated, because he was the son of our safely presumed next president. The things he did are a classic example of authority gone wild. He had Texas longhorns installed on the hood of a government-leased limo. Ran up a $750 bill for dinner and drinks at a D.C. restaurant with a Texas oil man. “Send the bill to the vice president’s office,” he said, and walked out giggling. “Ordered” the USMC band to play “The Yellow Rose of Texas” three times at his daughter’s high school sleepover, forcing the band to cancel other scheduled events and flying them at taxpayers’ expense to Texas. When his father became president, Dubya’s authority increased and rumors multiplied. Then George senior lost to Bill Clinton when he ran for a second term, and Washington exhaled — Dubya was going home. Then he became governor of Texas. Under Karl Rove’s direction, his campaign committee tore into Ann Richards’ with half truths and innuendo, all lubricated with millions in oil money. With that victory, his ambition soared, with Rove to guide him: “Why not, president?” The best advice from Karl had to be: “Drop the cowboy image, take the hat off, take the boots off. It works great in Fort Worth, but it won’t play in Detroit. Then we’ll play up the Texas Air National Guard stuff, the glamour of the ‘Fighter Pilot’ picture.” As the story goes, his flying skills were barely minimal. His hand/eye coordination and depth perception were borderline “qualified.” His father urged the examining board to “give the boy a chance.” They did, they qualified him for flight school — and with that they consigned two multimillion dollar F14s to the scrap heap. One hard landing, nose gear first and skidding to a stop past the runaway and the other, a pancake landing collapsing the main gear and spinning across the concrete into a hangar door. In spite of his failures (but through “administrative urging”), George graduated from flying school as a “Fighter Pilot.” Great campaign stuff. You know the story. He lost the popular vote but won the Supreme Court vote (5 to 4) and became our president. Then the tragedy of the Twin Towers in New York. As President Bush was in the center of a half circle of school children, supposedly teaching them something, an aide came in, whispering in his ear. “Our country is under attack.” The president sat there, looking bewildered for almost 10 minutes. When asked by a reporter why he took so long to respond, he said with a look tenderness: “I didn’t want to alarm the children.” After he and Dick invaded Iraq and the WMD fiasco and the mushroom cloud speeches, the staged aircraft carrier landing where he played “Top Gun” in his flight suit with his helmet under his arm. With that phony “Mission Accomplished” banner in the background, his speech writers came up with some great lines. One of my favorites is: The camera zooms in for a waist up shot, he leans his shoulder forward, and says sternly: “I will protect the American people.” And the audience goes wild. Then that great applause line that he’s used countless times: “The world is better off without Saddam Hussein.” I can’t help but think, if he could have pulled it off, he’d have strapped Saddam’s body across the hood of his land rover and drove through the streets of Crawford shouting, “This is the guy who tried to kill mah daddy.” Then the Harriet Miers misfire and her famous line: “He’s the most brilliant man I’ve ever met.” Whew! Can you imagine her with all that eye makeup sitting on our Supreme Court? There’s so much more about our “Fighter Pilot” president, his personality quirks, his flexible conscience, and far too much more to mention here. If Ron Reagan’s opinion had gotten more national notice, maybe things would be different. Remember when he said, “George Bush is totally unqualified to be president and everyone around him knows it.” Too bad that not enough people heard him. Charlie Rodgers is a resident of Norwood.

Honey... Your WRONG about the Mexicans

I just got into a heated discussion with the wife about illegals. She in one swift sentence stated that "The Mexicans do jobs that Americans won't do". Really? how about the Mexican cement contractors who last year managed to shut down a job that I was on in Honey Brook, all because of "Mexican protest week"! Or how about the landscapers and drywallers in Newtown Square working at the new Long & Foster building? Do you think that there are Americans not able, capable, or interested in doing that type of work? My Dad had a landscaping business, and employed local men and a few Irishmen off the boat. May I employ some cheap labour? Would you want me to wire your new home with them? Hell, I'd make a way better bottom line, maybe enough to take next summer off. Bottom line is this: There are many many AMERICANS who would be willing to shovel shit just to feed their families. So to the wife and other liberal morons who want to allow these 30 million illegals to become Americans by paying a fine? Please! Open your eyes! They do not like America or Americans. They do not intend to assimilate and learn our national language. The do want to work and make money and send it back home, thereby screwing up our already fragile economy. They already get free health care, spit out kids every nine months in the hope of having an American born child, and as of late, are visibility protesting for their so called rights.. What about our RIGHTS? So the next time you see these illegals with there shifty eyes and speaking in Spanish in front of you while doing the job that an AMERICAN doesn't want to do, remember your job could be next. P.S. A great link about those innocent loving Mexicans...
