Michael Marcavage Vs. Lansdowne
While reading the Daily Times this morning I came across an article sent in by Michael Marcavage, a man who lives in the borough. He proceeds to attack Kevin Lee, an openly gay man who recently was appointed to borough council.
He cites from the Bible, (Romans, Chapter 1,) that "God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet."
He goes on to explain that the laws of our nation were founded on the Bible, that it is of a moral foundation, one that dates back to the beginning of time itself. Well Mr. Marcavage, I agree with you, but only to a point. Yes I believe that God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Men and Women are unique, and best physically equipped for intercourse with each other.
Mr.Marcavage goes on to quip about the borough soon requiring children to read amongst other things, Books entitled: "Heather Has Two Mommies" and "Daddy's Roommate". Good Luck, you'll need it but please quit driving around in a bus with posters plastered on it showing aborted fetuses. That's where I draw the line, such as when the governor was in Lansdowne certain people showed up and in front of these same young children, exposed graphic posters of aborted fetuses. If I were present, I would have grabbed the posters, tore them up, then proceed to punch out them all. I probably would have landed up in jail, but it would be well worth it.
That's why I love America.
Again, good luck with taking on the powers that be in Lansdowne.

ReplyDeleteWell, gee...nobody seemed to have invited them when the child was actually being conceived! How about a little RESPONSIBILITY? The idea that anti-abortion activists should be responsible for the irresponsible actions of others would be like anti-robbery activists being asked to pay robbers a stipend to make up for what they couldn't get via their plans!
However, I do agree with you that the graphic displays are inappropriate--as inappropriate as if activists paraded outside Mr. Marcavage's church with graphic homosexual photos.

ReplyDeleteOk. Your right on this, but as my wife just reminded me after reading this thread: How come so many MEN are Anti-Abortion? Her take is that they feel inferior, not being "In Control" must like the Rapist feels when he attacks a woman. Michael Marcavage is a young disturbed man. Gil Spencer even ripped him one the other day in the paper.
I wonder how Marcavage feels about Stem Cell research? Or better yet, being in my former neighbors shoes?

I hope Mr. Marcavage will respond to this thread. I really would love for him to justify his actions, other than to quote HIS almighty Bible.
Marcavage is a bible wielding extremist along the likes of Jerry Falwel and Pat Robertson. I'm happy that he was locked up at OutFest. He has NO right to interfere with our activities. It took us years and years to finally be accepted in the world.

Well being that it is my blog I could just as well post nude pictures of you or your other half IF I had possession of them. But I don't and I don't know you (Or Do I),.. Anyway, to each his own. Marcavage is ok in my book but too extreme. To him, I am going STRAIGHT TO HELL.

At least Marcavage has a STANDARD for right and wrong. You can say what is "right" and what is "wrong" all day, but in the end you can't explain WHY anything is wright or wrong.
ReplyDeleteYour quite right. After watching the video of him at the GAY DAY parade in Philly, I feel that he was railroaded. As of yesterday, all charges were thrown out. good for him. His tactics are a bit extreme, but you cannot doubt the word of God, and he does quote from the bible. "Man shall not lay down with man" it says.

M.M. has more on his mind than homosexuals you know. last year he and his companions showed up at a local tree dedication with large pictures of aborted fetuses. Children were there and saw these horrible photos. I posted what I would have done if I were present.

Christians are appointed by God to spread his word accross the earth. Michael is not condeming anyone. All he is doing is holding people accountable for their actions according to what the bible states. I am sure that Michael has "sinned" just like all other christians no-one on this earth is perfect. I feel that if more Christians in the world stood up for Christ like Michael does then this world would be a better place for it.

I also remember being taught about the "Crusades" but they never informed me that they killed millions who wouldn't "Convert".

ReplyDeleteI had a run in with Michael 2 days ago in Lansdowne, re: the picture of a so called aborted fetus which he charmingly names Malachi. I am a 63 year old grandmother and that picture is an obscenity. He is entitled to his opinion, he is not free to show obscene pictures where small children can see them. He admitted he is a virgin, that is clearly obvious.He is a sick boy crying for attention. I would also think there is the possibilty that he is gay and can't handle that fact. He has found a way to go through life playing God and getting others to support him financially. He is to be pitied and then ignored. Helen Moran

So what were you to do?
