David Landau - A One Trick Pony?

I've been interested in the up coming election for Delaware County Council in November now for a few months, thanks to David Landau moving into my town of Clifton Heights. I have visited both parties web sites, and although both talk a good talk, Fizzano Cannon, McGarrigle, and Lewis of Delco 2007 have EXPERIENCE and have served Delco well according to my observations, abit some issues that I'll describe below.

Wasteful Spending: To David: Why spend how many thousands of dollars to rent a campaign HQ here in Clifton? That is wasteful spending. Myself and other people residing in the "Blue Collar" section of Delaware County are quite content with the way things are running, and do not want to see Delco be consumed by Philadelphia, like it did to Mayfair, Roxborough, and the greater northeast, an agenda that you Democrats have been trying to do for decades!

Response to your Problem: I asked Nick Micozzie to look into a matter concerning a neighbor, and he responded. So did his Son and also Tom Judge, all Republicans serving Delco. They actually responded to me, so I in turn feel that they are worthy of being elected. That's what gets people elected. To be fair to you, your spokesman, George Matysik, has responded to me via email in a positive way, and insists that you are sincere in your ambition to serve us.

Cronyism: There is one issue that David brought forth, that has me interested. "The one trick pony issue" mentioned as the title to this post that has me interested in him. It's called Cronyism. I know of several people who own companies who have a lock on contracts in the county and have had for years, and why they do is not a secret anymore. Unfortunately, this issue is a non issue, as most voters in Delaware County are not self employed, and couldn't give it another thought. Another thing is the issue of Upper Darby, once a decent place to live, now turned into an extension of West Philadelphia. David, what would you be willing to do to resolve this?

Number ONE Problem: What I want County Council to do is to BAN Section 8 housing in Delaware County. Period. Scumbags who play the system represent over 95 percent of the applicants. Our so called "Tax Dollars" fund these people, while people like myself, pay top dollar to live in the area, not to mention NO HEALTH CARE. These are MY issues, and many other voters who will decide the outcome in November. Enough of ranting tonight, I need to find some work to do tomorrow as a self employed electrician so I can pay my bills. Cheers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Links to the candidates for Delaware County County Council: David Landau Just kidding, here's the real link to David's web site.. 10/8/2007 - *NEW* Ann O'Keefe for Delaware County County Council! 1. I agree with you Franny. This Landau seems like the biggest hypocrite going. I've read that when the Democrats took over Nether Providence (he's the Democratic Chairman there) they fired the Republicnas and brought in a Democrat lawyer and engineer. They were certainly allowed to do that, but how does he then criticize Republicans?? Also, when the job for the local district judge came up, he made sure his wife got the job. How's that for cronyism? On the Section 8 issue, I agree with the goal but it is my understanding that it is illegal to ban section 8. Instead, what the County Council has done is invest the federal housing money it gets in home ownership programs. If these people actually own their homes, they are much more likely to take care of things and not treat the neighborhood like a toilet. I also think the real issue in this race is taxes and crime. The proof is in the pudding. The Republicans have not raised taxes the last three years. The Nether Dems, where Landau controls, raised them 7.5%. On crime, the Republicans have a plan (look at their website) and have been endorsed by the FOP, the cops on the street. Landau's only record on crime is from when he was a lawyer for the ACLU and fought to pass a law to allow all criminals, no matter what their crime, to have easy bail. Thanks for linking to these sites, it was helpful.

  2. David Landau is a hot dog, not a watchdog!

And why do we need a "watchdog" on County Council?

We haven't had a tax increase in three years, and the County is very well run.

So, I agree with your analysis, Franny.

Keep up the good work with your blog!

  3. David is only trying to rip apart what the Republicans have done for 50 years! I am amazed at Mr.Ward has posted concerning cronyism! A guy who has a contract himself with the DCIU! How many fake hours have you submitted in your bills over the past year Franny? Heh FRANNY? Talk about CRONYISM? Care to reply FRANNY?

  4. "We need this, and we need this, oh and by the way we need this too"

That's all the Dems do is float "needs" with no real explanation of who and how it's going to be paid for. Ready for the simple answer? TAXES, that's how "this" is paid for. Guess who pays TAXES? That's right, you and I do! I'll give one free tip to the Dems just cause I feel sorry for them. Stop having your campaign staff spam blogs in Delco, they are subscribing to the "Ready, Fire, Aim" philosophy with conspiracy theories abound, it's hurting your campaign more than you can imagine. The victimized approach doesn't work for me as a voter and I'll go out on a limb and say it doesn't work w/others as well. The GOP has done well w/keeping taxes down and increases to an absolute minimum, that's all we really care about to tell you the truth but I guess it'll take another 40 or so years for you guys to figure that one out. LOL

Number one, I have no contract with the I.U. whatsoever. Number two my hours billed are accurate. In fact, on more than one occasion I have stopped by certain sites and was asked to look at something and never billed for it. I have done work for them for over 15 years. How long have you worked for them again?

Your post is nothing more than a smear tactic, Are we that desperate True Dem?

P.S. I have a really good idea who you are.

  7. Anonymous Number 1 sounds and wries an awful lot like Pete Peterson--Isn't that teh same Pete Person who was the Weldon campaign's communications director and smeared Joe Sestak?
Doesn't Mr. Petersen's company do lots of work for the gambling and horseracing industrues like promoting new casinos?
The voice of DELCO2007 says it all with respect to what we can expect if Mr. Ward gets his way--more grand jury investigations, weldon type cromyism running rampant, weldon type fear and smear tactics and more gambling--what a mix. Maybe you'll get more hours at IU Fran.

  8. Hey, whatever it takes to put food on the table for my wife and children. Although I couldn't stomach Weldon, I did agree that if I could get my daughter a nice job, I would do it. So would you. If you say you wouldn't I'd call you a liar.

    Cheers.

I agree with you about this. My wife (recently changed her party affiliation to Democrat) told me that she mainly did it because of the moron dictator (I agree) who recently vetoed a bill to help American children and thier families with Healthcare. I as a Republican, will seek out and actively protest each and every one of those who supported and continue to support the swine named Bush, a spoiled sniviling coward silver spoon clown from the blue blood northeast of New England.

My idea of serving in a governmental capacity, like Congressman, County Council, State rep, etc, is to serve the PEOPLE of the United Stated first. Not your party, nor special intrest groups, corporations, etc. Am I missing something here? Or am I labeled a "nutcase" like Ron Paul for wanting what our forefathers fought and died over. True Freedom, a true Republic.

    Cheers.

  13. Sorry, I couldn't find a web site for Innelli's campaign.

So, Fran. What's so good about one party controlling the County.

How can that possibly be good for the little guys.

Are you aware that DELCO has no Health Department. In this day and age of bird flu, bio-attacks do you think that's wise? Do you know who supports the creation of a County Health department? Not your pals the republicans.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Joe, there is nothing good about one so called party controlling the county other than it avoids an in house bickering that only creates more red tape to get anything accomplished. Look at Philly. They have more problems getting anything done than getting anything done at all! (I am trying to make sense here).

On top of that, I don't know shit from shinola about who is running for what, all that I know is I as a citizen of the United States have seen my so called "Party" destroy us from within, both economically and by destroying the Constitution of these United States. I want.. No I DEMAND someone of either party, or an independent, to castrate the out of touch and out of control government, which is holding all of us as hostages. . This feeling that I have of course trickles down to the local government. I'm no fan of Hillary, or Obama, or any other Democrat who will go along with the process, much like your Nancy" All impeachment proceedings are off the table " Pelosi, and Hillary's "We need to be in Iraq" bullshit rhetoric! I have no problem at all with Connie Williams, Ted Erickson, Nick Micozzie, or Mario Civera locally. all have served their constituents rather well as far as I know.

Do me a favor, You have access to post your own post here on "I Live In Delaware County". Please do so and explain to me and the hundreds of visitors as to why Delco should vote for the Democrats. I will respect your post and respond accordingly. In fact, I urge everyone who has Blog access (Hey Paula?) to start their own thread and spill their guts on what ticks them off. I won't delete it. I just am amazed that there are nine people who I have given access and nine people who are either Democrats of lean that way who haven't posted anything (As in their own topic) at all. Again I say, feel free to post. It's healthy and I do read every post and reply put on here!

    Cheers.

  15. Fran, I wish Joe Ward would get his facts straight before making baseless statements. You should really look at this health department issue. From a money standpoint, it would take a double digit tax increase to fund it, even after all of the supposed grants are received to help pay for it (none of which are guaranteed and most of which would probably reduce or go away in the future). The County already has a unique partnership with all of the hospitals in the County. Whenever health department proponents open their mouth, they never tell us what a health department would do that is not already being done. Bird flu? Is Joe Ward insinuating that a county health department would stop bird flu? How? By making sure all crows get their bird flu shots? Take a look at the mess which is the Philadelphia Health Department (look at some of the Inquirer articles over the last several weeks - hardly a right wing rag). Is this what the Democrats want to recreate here? They also say that a county health department would take over local board of health inspections. Do you want someone from Media coming here to Clifton to inspect pizza shops, or would we rather have our own officials do this - who are answerable to us! I'm getting a little tired of people like Joe Ward railing on about "one party rule". This is an insult to the voters. The Republicans in Delaware County get elected because they do the best job, and people recognize it. Look at where the Democrats have taken over around us - Lansdowne, Darby, Yeadon. Has their governing of those towns made them better or worse? Have they held the line on taxes? Has crime gotten better or worse?

  16. I don't agree with anyone badmouthing David Landau, Esquire. I have known him since he graduated law school, worked with him at WBSSC and the D.C.C.C.P.

Leave his ass alone. WE all know that he is absolutely POLITICALLY CORRECT. It's about time that somebody stood up to the GOP of DELCO.

    Sincerely,

    Registered Republican since 1977

Justs his rants piss you off. That's it. And yeah, if you could get your daughter/son a job with Weldon, Judge or any other GOP in Delco you would. Just like I did - many years ago. He wouldn't take the job with UPTWP years ago. I did. He's honest. I'm not - i'll bet your not.
